Full day. Fifteen people. Hands-on.

Build and ship your first real app in one day, even if you don't code.

You'll leave with a live website, a working app on your phone, and a clear workflow for building with AI.

If you've used AI but never built with it, this gets you going. In one day, you'll go from idea to working outputs and learn how to prompt effectively, fix what breaks, and keep shipping after the workshop.

Why This Workshop

You've used AI. Now actually build something real.

Most people are stuck in prompts, not products. This workshop is designed to get you past that.

You won't sit through demos. You'll build, with guidance, and leave with things that actually run.

No coding required But you do need to be comfortable using AI.
15 people max So you don't get stuck.
Practical, not abstract You leave with working outputs, not notes.
Nikhil Pahwa

Why Learn From Nikhil

Learn from someone who's actually building with this.

Nikhil Pahwa is the founder and editor of MediaNama, and a long-time voice in India's technology, policy, and digital rights ecosystem. He has spoken at forums including TED, Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, and Columbia.

More relevant for this workshop: he's actively building with AI.

In the last month alone, without a traditional coding background, he has built and shipped 20+ working projects, including:

  • Android apps that run on real devices
  • Interactive web tools and small games
  • Desktop applications
  • Early stage builds of larger product ideas

You're learning what actually works, what breaks, and how to get unstuck, from someone doing this in real time.

Workshop Outcomes

The day is structured around three concrete builds and the workflow behind them.

Launch a live website

URL included.

Build something interactive

And fun.

Get a real app running on your phone

The main promise of the workshop.

Learn how to cut scope and actually finish

So you build version one instead of getting stuck in ideas.

Know what to do when AI gives you bad output

Prompt better, inspect the result, and fix what breaks.

Leave with reusable tooling

So you can keep building and shipping after the workshop.

Morning

Tooling and early wins

There will be a checklist. Some software needs to be installed before the workshop, and more tooling will be installed during the day because setup friction otherwise eats build time.

Middle of the day

Build confidence through visible output

The website and mini game are not side quests. They are the fast confidence-building stages that prepare people for the Android app build.

End of the day

Leave with working artifacts

The expectation is not perfect polish. The expectation is that you leave with a device-ready app, a website, a mini game, and a clearer next step.

Before You Arrive

This workshop is a great fit if you:

Have used ChatGPT or similar tools before.
Are comfortable installing software.
Want to actually build something, not just learn about it.
Can bring a Windows, Mac or Linux laptop, charger, and any adapter you normally need.
Have your laptop admin password and permission to install software on the machine.
Have a ChatGPT Plus subscription, because higher rate limits matter for the workshop flow.
